About Brendan Mallen CPP (Director)
For the past seven years Brendan has successfully managed his own investigations and consultancy company operating throughout EMEA and Eastern Europe. Specialising in IP protection and investigations he has been instrumental in the recovery of €£$ millions in reparations from offending parties. He has appeared in various courts as an expert witness in product identification and was also involved in the setting up and carrying out of a worldwide supply chain security audit program for Optical Media manufacturers and distributors.
In May 2001 Brendan earned the designation of Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International.
He was Security Manager for a multinational Optical Media Manufacturer for almost three years and dealt with all enquiries relating to suspected counterfeit items thus giving him a unique insight into product identification and the manufacturing processes.
A former Special Forces Officer, Bomb Disposal Officer and Police officer, Brendan has unique experience within the Security Industry. He has over 30 years experience in the Security field including ten years in the commercial sector.
He holds a Science Degree from University College Galway (1981-1983) and qualified as an Ordnance Mechanical Engineer with the Ordnance Corps of the Irish Defence Forces. He also holds a City and Guilds Certificate in Quality Control.

Brendan Mallen, IPF Director of Security Operations, has been awarded the Security Professional of the Year award 2010 at the 85th Annual W.A.D Conference (World association of Detectives www.wad.net ). This award is in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the industry through excellence, leadership, business acumen and the entrepreneurial endeavour he consistently demonstrates.
